It’s time to lighten up for Summer! Tips on how to bring the sunshine inside your home

As the Summer season approaches, it's the perfect time to give your home a refreshing makeover. From incorporating beautiful homeware pieces to investing in new bed linen, there are plenty of ways to revamp your home for the warmer months.

Ease into new season with our summer decorating ideas that will instantly help your space feel lighter and brighter.

Indoor Plants:

Decorating with plants is a wonderful way to bring life and vitality to interiors. There's nothing like lush greenery to brighten up a living space, plus the positive impact plants have on our health and wellbeing is well documented.

With such a huge variety of indoor plants available, from dainty string of pearls to large bird of paradise plants and indoor trees like figs and citrus, the scope for decorating with plants is endless.

Whether you're looking to liven-up the kitchen or bring calm to the bedroom, there is a house plant for every room and situation, so before you start decorating be sure to familiarise yourselves with the best indoor plants.

Decor:

A few extra special accessories, like a framed art print with a summer scene or a hand-painted vase for fresh flowers, can truly transform your space. Focus your attention on surfaces like coffee tables or bookshelves, which are often focal points in the room.

Little things like switching up your sofa cushions or candles on your mantlepiece can make all the difference to your living spaces.

Rearrange your Living Spaces:

You don’t need new furniture to make your home look fresh. Simply rearrange what you’ve already got. Think about the way you and your family spend your time at home during the summer and reposition your furniture and accessories accordingly. Do you love watching your garden blooming? Move your sofa so it faces the windows. Love reading by the windows? Place your lounge chairs and side table closer to the window or on your balcony and create a little lounging place.

Bedding:

Go for lightweight, breathable bedlinen - you can’t go past bamboo linen and stonewashed cotton.

Colour Blocking - With maximalism still going strong, this multi-toned trend is a natural fit for fun summer bedding. Just as it applies to dressing, it essentially involves taking two or more bold colours and pairing them together to create a visually appealing contrast on your bed.

Don’t forget your pillow! A cooling pillow designed specifically with breathable components will wick away moisture, dissipate heat, and promote increased airflow to help regulate your body temperature.

Colour:

Switch up the hues of your home to give it a lighter feeling to invite Summer into your interiors.

By surrounding yourself with colours that elevate your mood, you can give yourself a little energy boost and a healthy mental reset. Whether you're drawn toward cornflower blue or quartz pink, soft and muted shades perfectly complement your warm-weather side.
